Meet the Author

Hi, I’m A Match In Progress.
After my divorce, I found myself stepping into a world I never imagined I’d have to navigate—online dating in my 30s. What started as a few hopeful swipes quickly turned into a year filled with first dates, unforgettable stories, plenty of lessons, and more surprises than I ever expected.

Why We Share These Stories

Dating can feel exciting, confusing, hilarious, and heartbreaking—sometimes all in the same week. It’s easy to think you’re the only one experiencing the awkward dates, unanswered messages, mixed signals, or moments of self-doubt. The truth is, you’re not.

This blog exists to remind us that every chapter has value, even the ones that don’t end the way we hoped. By sharing these stories openly and honestly, my hope is that you’ll laugh a little, reflect a little, and maybe even feel a little less alone.

Because sometimes the most important part of the journey isn’t the match—it’s everything that happens between them.

An open linen-covered journal resting on a cozy living room ottoman, its pages filled with handwritten dating stories represented by swirling, abstract ink lines and playful doodles of hearts, maps, and tiny doors. Beside it, a smartphone displays a blurred dating profile grid, suggesting an endless sea of matches. A soft knitted throw drapes over the edge of the ottoman, and a small candle flickers in the background atop a wooden tray with two empty glasses. Warm lamplight creates a gentle, intimate glow, with subtle shadows in the corners. Shot from a slightly elevated angle in photographic realism, the composition uses rule of thirds to emphasize the journal as a safe, supportive space for sharing real dating experiences.
